In partnership with the FCC and the Enhanced Alternative Connect America Cost Model, Oakhill Engineering, and KLK Construction, Reasnor Telephone Company has completed nearly 90% of the process of building out Fiber to the Home (FTTH) for the Reasnor Rate Center. FTTH will offer superior home and business internet options with speeds and packages that will range up to 1000mbps/1000mbps (see Internet Services). Reasnor has built out for dual connection points to the Iowa Fiber Ring in an attempt to have redundant services available for the best opportunity to limit outages to bring consistent FTTH to the residents of the Reasnor Rate Center. The project is expected to complete by December 2026, weather and material availability permitting, Reasnor expects to be complete by December 2025. **As of December 2023 Reasnor has 27 locations remaining to bring FTTH connectivity.
Reasnor is preparing to begin construction in September 2026 for the remaining designated areas of the Reasnor rate center. This project is expected to complete Reasnor's Fiber-to-the-Home buildout and make fiber service available to all serviceable locations within the rate center.
Residents may see construction crews working in rights-of-way and utility easements as conduit, vaults, fiber, drops, splicing, and testing are completed. Project timing may vary based on weather, permitting, materials, and construction conditions.
We appreciate your patience and support as Reasnor completes this important investment in reliable, high-speed fiber broadband for the community.
